Children’s Missions, Outreach and Events
Our Children’s Program participates in many missions, outreach opportunities and events.
In the spring, our children help collect money for our local Salvation Army Food Shelf as part of the Minnesota Food-Share program.
On Palm Sunday they wave the palms to celebrate the Easter season. Children sing Hosanna waving palms through the church sanctuary during the service opening.
Easter Event is an outreach to the community to share the Easter Story. Children enjoy carnival games, crafts, snacks and a fun professional puppet show by Jim Jayes. We end the morning with an egg hunt. The Easter Event is held on the Saturday before Easter from 9:00-10:30 a.m. This is a free event. Adult must accompany children.
Faith in Action allows our children to help in the community by doing local cleanup work, assembling food bags, writing letters to our troops and activities with their families in the early summer months.
Advent and Christmas Season is a time for our children to become active in our church services. Children take part in the tradition of lighting the Advent Candle with their families. They also rehearse for and perform with love the Christmas Pageant. This act of love is a beautiful way to sing praises to God and touch someone’s life through the storytelling of the birth of Christ.
Christmas Mission is a church wide collection that children help with by purchasing toys and clothes for children in the community. This is done in partnership with the Austin Salvation Army.
