Baptism Baptism is the sacrament that unites us with Jesus Christ and welcomes us into God’s family, the Church. Through this very special event, we receive and are reminded of God’s love and desired salvation for all. Westminster celebrates both infant and child baptisms, as parents declare their intention to raise their children as followers of Christ, and adult baptisms as individuals profess their Christian faith. Baptisms are performed during our Sunday Morning Worship and are a celebration of the entire Church Family. |
Confirmation Our Confirmation class is a 3 year period for 6th-8th grade youth to grow in their faith. During this time, we explore the Old and New Testaments as well as Presbyterian Polity/History. This is a time for our youth to delve deeper in their faiths as they discover what it means to live for Christ and gives them time to take ownership of their faith. In their final year the student will write a Statement of Faith, declaring what they believe. This Statement is shared with the session and the church as the student graduates from the program and becomes an official member of the church congregation. |
Marriage Christian Marriage is a lifelong commitment made between two people under the blessing of our God. It is the hope of Westminster that every wedding here be an occasion as meaningful and as memorable as possible. We want to provide, within the framework of our liturgy and tradition, a service for each couple that will be their own and start their life together with a true sense of God's blessing. If you are interested in having a Wedding at Westminster, please take a moment review our Wedding Ceremony pamphlet to familiarize yourself with our process. The church facilities are available to couples who agree to follow our wedding policies. All weddings are approved by the WPC Session and will be presided over by WPC Pastors. |
Memorial Service/Funeral We at Westminster seek to support the family of faith through all of life’s transitions, including the death of a loved one. Our funeral and memorial services focus on the celebration of the life of our loved one and we confidently claim the promises of Jesus Christ and the power of the Resurrection. The church facilities are available to all members of the congregation for memorial or funeral services. Our Pastors will preside at all services and receptions following the service can be arranged. |
New Member Classes We offer regular opportunities for becoming a member here at Westminster. We offer a New Members Class in the Spring and/or the Fall for anyone interested in learning more about our congregation. In this three week course (meeting on Sundays after worship for 1 hour) we explore our traditions, our faiths and our church. At the end of each class there is an invitation to join our congregation. |
Please contact the Pastoral Staff or the Church Office at 507-433-3258 if you would like to discuss or learn more about any of these Life Event services. We look forward to walking with you through the journey of life that God is leading you on. |
